CEO of Ctrl2GO spoke at SPIEF-2019 about the implementation of predictive analytics in locomotive maintenance

CEO of the Ctrl2GO Group, Alexey Belinsky, took part in the session entitled "Forming the Industry of the Future. Digital Technologies in Industry", which took place on June 6 as part of the program of the first day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

During the discussion, Alexey Belinsky presented an example of the successful application of innovative developments in the Russian railway industry. He spoke about the experience of introducing the Ctrl@Maintenance solution developed by the Clover Group (a member of the Ctrl2GO Group of companies) based on the technologies of predictive analytics and artificial intelligence into the service maintenance of the LokoTech Group of companies' locomotives.

In 2016, LokoTech GC announced a competition for a solution that would predict locomotive malfunctions and equipment failures between scheduled repairs. The winner was Russian company Clover Group that presented an operable prototype and proved that it could predict equipment breakdowns with the help of big data.

"The task was not easy to solve. We managed to create a mechanism of anomalies detection in the machine behavior and built physical models of locomotive units to explain the nature of their occurrence. To achieve real economic efficiency, we need to arrange the integration with enterprise resource planning systems, which allowed for distributing spare parts and additional works before the locomotive arrived for repair," noted Alexey Belinsky. "Today, thanks to the implementation of the Ctrl@Maintenance solution, we have managed to reduce the unproductive downtime of locomotives to 22%. If the rest of the group's developments are comprehensively integrated into the processes, we will be able to reduce the downtime of locomotives connected with repairs fourfold".

Now the project is being implemented at LokoTech Group of Companies and provides "smart servicing" for almost a third of the entire Russian Railways locomotive stock (7.5 thousand locomotive sections) in 59 depots.

Alexey Belinsky particularly emphasized that the decisions of the Ctrl2GO Group of companies have export potential and can be applied for machines and equipment in various industries.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is a unique annual conference dedicated to discussing the issues of business and economic development of Russia. The primary purpose of the forum is the conclusion of agreements aimed at implementing projects that contribute to the development of the economy and represent a practical business tool. The SPIEF participants traditionally are the leading representatives of the business community, including managers of the largest Russian and foreign enterprises, political leaders, chairmen of governments, and others.
